Rajkumar rao is good even in a mediocre movie. Honestly, he was the only reason that made me watch this film. The trailer looked okay. Needles to say this wasn’t a bad film but it wasn’t anything extraordinary either.
I am glad that filmmakers are tackling taboo subjects. But I feel like there are so many things they are trying to say, at one time. There are a few genuinely funny sequences. And the performances are really great. Boman Irani, Paresh Rawal , everyone is so great. It’s almost Impossible to disregard the acting.
I am glad I watched it but it could have been a better film.
Tonally bankrupt. These two words for define the film perfectly for me. People believing that cinema in India has come of age, still needs writers and their prowess to write what is not done to death. The screenplay of this film has your usual plot beats, nothing extraordinary but because of which most of the conflicts seem boring for some reason. The kind of tone it goes for usually ends up reaping very average/middling results.
Taking two diverse ideas which don't belong to even be on the same spectrum could go either way. The intent is correct but what about the execution? To be fair the film works wonders in parts, especially in montages, but the set up takes too long. It feels too vanilla in flavour, but it is an ice-cream to look at the positive side. It's struggle and fight with itself, to achieve gold standard results is death of a wonderful idea and a good film.
i honestly could not tell you what i thought of this movie, because for the first half i was completely distracted by the woman next to me, who i’m pretty sure was crying?? for like the entire first half?? she came in at the beginning with this guy and she was just audibly sniffling and breathing heavily and wiping her eyes and whatnot. then periodically she would take out her phone and just be texting for like 10 minutes. around halfway through i moved a seat over and i think she quieted down as well so i was able to focus more on the latter half, but oh my god. i hope she’s okay but also why would you come to a movie in that mood?? girl you can cry and text literally anywhere else in the mall and it doesn’t cost £6.99!! or ruin MY moviegoing experience!!!
"Customer Chutiya hey."
One of those shitty Bollywood films that has one of the most stupidest screenplays ever but it thinks that it's very clever with it’s powerful message, one of the best actors in the leading role and some awful jokes that doesn't even land. Took me fucking 2 weeks to finish this shit.
Had a cute catch-up phone call with a friend from NZ, asked her what the last movie she watched was, and I was met with this movie as a response. I felt like I owed it to my friend to watch this, so I popped onto Netflix and watched my first Bollywood movie at 9.30pm on a Friday night.
To be honest, it wasn't what I was expecting. I was actually pretty impressed by the cinematography in this, and I really appreciated how they added a lot of visual texture to the background in each scene (eg I remember there was a scene where the main character just pensively stares into space in his warehouse/office, and all the random paraphernalia…
Watched it because Rajkumar Rao is in the cast. Again a comedy filled with reality of India (Asia) ((or may be all around the world)). Not only about taboo subject - Sex- but also about business cases.
Focus on one subject only if you can't properly combine it with some other subject.
Really mediocre in all aspects.
An intriguing unique concept, well outlined and portrayed. With a dreary first half, the movie picks up pace in the second, making it a must watch. Causing awareness on important but dormant issues in the country, it stirs the concerned viewers. The two leads, Rajkummar Rao and Boman Irani deserve a special mention for their outstanding performance. With some links not clicking into place along with a knotted story-line, it manages to shakily stand tall.
Berkhasiat banget. Kalau filmnya jelek, yaudah nggak kaget, Kalau filmnya lumayan bagus, yaudah seneng.
Walaupun nggak langsung berasa sih. Filmnya ini di awal-awal bikin nyeletuk, “Nah bener kan filmnya jelek.” Rajkummar Rao aja yang bagus. Dia memang nggak pernah jelek sih. Selalu…
Made in China rests on a wafer-thin plot about an aspiring entrepreneur's (Rajkummar Rao) wicked idea of selling an aphrodisiac that doubles up as the makers' attempt to preach sex education to the public in Ahmedabad and elsewhere in Gujarat and India and you. The problem is that there are just a couple of elements that surprise you in this comedy drama that is slightly inappropriate to watch with your (conservative) family because of its high dose of sexual innuendos (which are borderline sexist) masqueraded as one-liner jokes. Rao and Boman Irani lead the film that is largely a typical sex education film that is on par with Khandaani Shafakhana, a Hindi film on the same topic released a few…
Starting from Acting, you know its gonna be great when you see likes of Rajkummar Rao, Boman Irani, Paresh Rawal and Gajraj Rao Mind Blowing Acting by Each and Every Cast member Rajkummar nailed that Gujju Accent⠀
Camera Work and BGM were on Exceptional Level too, I loved how well BGM added energy to several scenes⠀
Topic of the movie was chosen wisely and the Focus on the topic in whole of second half deserves appreciation, Screenplay on the other hand wasn't up to the mark in First Half while it picks up pace in second half, it takes far more time to set up than required which can get you bored enough but if you bare the first half…
Raj Kumar Rao is a good actor , maybe thats why i held myself till the end of this mediocre movie .
The Asian actors in China did a good job specially the lady in the bar , rest its just a film which starts with a black sheep of a gujju business family trying to prove himself to the family with his beautiful wife beside him to forming a rivalry with his hero (Gjraj Rao , who played his role quite funnily) to ending up letting us know about entrepreneurship
i'd watch the most terrible movies if they had rajkumar rao starring in it but raj doesn't have any bad films so :)
mouni roy was simply a plus point. the plot was okay, nothing extraordinary but it's a one time watch typa movie
Dont know what to say. It’s an okay movie. Some good parts , some not so good ones but yeah a decent watch
Made in china is a fine comedy movie with a great Important topic for India and other countrys.
The cast did a fine job , especially Rajkummar rao and boman Irani.
The soundtrack of the movie was solid, but I liked the setting of China.
India and lots of other countrys still thinks, that talking about Sexual education is a forbidden topic.
When you wanna watch a fine movie with a simple story about a failed gujarati business man, then this is the right movie for you.
It is a entertaining movie , but it could be better when they goes deeper in to the topic.
