Madman has always been an indistinguishable slasher film that follows the formula and checks all the boxes in its eighty-eight minute runtime. You could ask me the next morning what Madman was about and I’d only be able to provide you with vague plot details in lieu of detailed movie information. It’s always been that forgettable to me.
Let’s just make sure we checked all the boxes this time and left no horror trope unturned:
Campfire origin tale?
Inexplicably poor decision making?
General inability to drive to safety?
Maybe I’ve been too hard on Madman previously because I really enjoyed watching it this time around. It’s very formulaic and there’s a little bit too much walking in the woods looking at nothing but it’s an enjoyable watch. I still don’t think that I’ll remember any actual plot details in a couple of days, though. Enjoyable but forgettable.
