Madman is so damn folksy it's hard not to fall in love. Such a strange little gem, I can't believe these people never made anything else. The cast and set up is almost like an ugly not-Friday, the direction is top-notch with a ton of slick tracking shots and effectively spooky images.
Honestly, with any other big budget movie I would just chalk up the fact that we go from pitch black night to dawn to night again as a continuity error, but with such a handmade film, I'm apt to give it the benefit of the doubt and get a little more creative. It gives Madman the feel that we are witnessing a campfire tale that has taken over reality. A place where the sun never rises and time doesn't make sense. Woods where there is forever night, and Madman Marz is always breathing down your neck.
Can never get enough November horror!
