we stan an environmentally friendly gay ghost who loves dogs. when they revealed Mao Mao's dad gets orh lua (oyster omelette) and puts it in reusable plastic containers, i cried. that's love.
the whole film is set to Jolin Tsai's music because the director said Jolin Tsai is representative of LGBTQ culture in Taiwan, and he's right. Imagine if Hollywood had the courage to make a queer supernatural action comedy set to Kylie Minogue's discography.
A lot of the jokes may not totally translate to Western Netflix audiences since part of the fun is the older generation speaking in 台语 Taiwanese dialect and the younger gen speaking in standard Mandarin Chinese and only switching when swearing (and also the slang…

Homophobe gets married to a dead ghost and helps him reincarnate by fulfilling his wishes (like an inverse genie).
Funny, shows male ass aplenty and is a mix of different genres from action, thriller, romance, revenge, etc. It's not exactly a gay love story but more a cautionary tale on how gay situationships can cost you your life. (Don't go on instagram at your lowest, especially not on the road!) Also, this pent-up, we don't talk about anything until they're dead is so Chinese culture.
Greg Hsu does well here as usual, but is anybody surprised?
P.S. Love it when women do crime and get their well-deserved revenge fulfilled
