Random parts of this movie felt like they could’ve been Laura Palmer’s life as a thirty year old.
Poster made a big impression on me growing up. I remember seeing the ad in the local paper and just staring at it for ages, fantasizing what the actual movie was like. Well, I finally got to see Mausoleum and perhaps I should have stuck with my fantasy. You would think that I would have a blast with the terrible acting, sub-par Buechler effects including possessed breasts and the overall schlock but no.

First, I love that poster. Second, I’m stuck in an 80’s loop as can be seen by my recent activity. Third, I love 80’s horror so much.
This was ridiculous and crazy and very entertaining. Bobbie Bresee and her DayGlo eyes are the most, especially when she’s snarling at the camera. There’s a great random comedy scene at the 45 minute mark where the fantastic LaWanda Page gets spooked and says she “hasn’t been this nervous since she was black”. The practical effects are also pretty great, even if the accompanying camerawork in that final scene is highly questionable.
Also, the “Nomed” girls! I wonder if they have any relatives in Nilbog? Ha!

i liked the part where her boobs turned into 2 little ancient demon faces with glow in the dark slime dripping from their eyes and mouths.
Scripted like a porn, acted like a cornflake commercial and lit like a disco - this is the epitome of why 80’s horror will never die. Perfectly ridiculous in every way and it works oh so well.
Bow down to the marvelous wonder that is MAUSOLEUM! A film that encompasses everything I love about 80s horror! From the nonsensical opening to the glorious blood red title sequence... you know you are in for a wild ride! Fasten those seatbelts here we go!!
Mauselom is a mystical beast that represents my love for all things sleazy, supernatural and wacky. An abundance of green fog, green glowing eyes, vibrant colours, rad demon designs, nasty gore, bizarre dialogue, jarring kill scenes, unintentional humor and a whole lotta magical magnificence.

Okay, so this was absolutely cray cray. We are well on our way to approaching full brainmelt here. If I didn't know any better I would say that Mausoleum was written/ directed by Claudio Fragasso/ Bruno Mattei, because it gives off a similar off-kilter vibe that their output has. Those trashmasters never had the guts to put a woman with demonic breasts in any of their movies however. So way to go, Michael Dugan!

Early 80s horror by a guy who had only directed sleazy sex comedies, so of course it's full of cleavage and the mysterious protrusions that make cleavage possible.
So much random shit happens and it's kind of amazing to watch the nonsense unfold as glowly green eyed girl does her demonic thing to everyone she encounters in her posh house on the hill. The pervy gardener was the best; he even spent his lunch break reading about gardening! What an absolute Chad.
That scene where she ventures out to the mall; wonder if they filmed the escalator parts without permission, because EVERYONE…

As a vehicle to get once Playboy Bunny Bobbie Bresee to show as much skin as possible, this grab bag of kitschy witchcraft drips with the same endearing aura of cheap Halloween decorations as it lumbers along. Early make-up from the great John Carl Buechler works fantastically with the garish lighting and LaWanda Page gets a hilarious segment playing to her strengths of being far too smart for this shit. Bresee pulls her weight as the seductive demoness despite this being her first feature role with very little acting experience.
Mausoleum proves a little…
A possession movie with great makeup fx and and plenty of sleazy parts. Mausoleum technically isn't a good movie but its off-kilter vibe definitely makes it worth checking out. That, plus the fact that it contains a she-demon whose boobs are shaped like demonic faces. Wild stuff!

It’s amazing how much a gorgeous transfer can help a film and Vinegar Syndrome really knocked this one out of the park! It was always 4 stars for me, but now I don’t see how anyone could think otherwise!
LaWanda Page saying “I ain’t been this nervous since I was black!” is still my favorite thing about this bananas movie.
