Le Grand coup de Max Keeble, Σχέδιο Εκδίκησης
This movie is dripping with layers. What may appear to be a typical 2001 children's comedy reveals itself to be a thematic drama that is at once heartbreaking yet able to find comedy in the small moments that fill the banality of growing up. Alex D. Linz could have surfed the wave of success coming off of Home Alone 3 for the rest of his life, but he chose to prove to the world that he can truly act by plumbing the depths of the Keeble psyche, becoming one of the 21st century's finest antiheros. Not enough can be said about the principal character, Jindraike. His Best Supporting Actor Oscar was well deserved. Taking Back the House, Neds Declassified, and Blank Check were all sewn from the same cloth that Keeble created, and we owe so much to this film for the tears and laughs it continues to bring us.
BIRTHDAY BASH SESSION - THE GREATEST LOOP MOVIE
Call me pathetic, call me desperate, I don't care cause its my birthday! And as part of this very special day for moi, I am taking those who dare, into a journey to some of the greatest, scariest and weirdest moments in my life through four special movies.
Starting up, lets go back into the early 00s, this was one of those movies every time, every day, anywhere they aired it, I just let whatever I was doing and watched from beginning to end. Not gonna lie, the low rating for many I kinda understand as I initially looked for it with the intention of featuring a movie that's objectively bad but…
this movie has the biggest twist in modern cinema history. i mean.... wow
A damnation on the rise of capitalism in America. Max represents every blue collar worker who, in spite of the tough hand they’ve been dealt, still try to make the best of their situation.
This movie is in its own way a sort of O Brother-esque film in that the characters and journeys we go on are reminiscent of Homer’s The Odyssey. Each remind you of the highs and lows of America and how they affect not just the adults in the present - but the children of the now and future.
A masterclass in hyper-realism with homages to Martial Arts films, the Ice-Cream man and Max’s subplot reminds me of Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner, and the…
Too bad I didn’t see this earlier in life because this would’ve been middle school me’s favourite movie for sure. The cast are quite charming and it has a few funny moments but “Max Keeble’s Big Move” is primarily aimed at kids and doesn’t really cater to anyone outside of it’s target demographic which is completely fine. It’s harmless and entertaining enough in the moment but I don’t have the nostalgia with this that so many do so I can’t say this really did to much for me. Totally understand why it has its fair share of fans though.
