I actually loved Mr Creak. It's extremely simple, yet is extremely frightening. The creaks, the lighting, and the props make this a fantastic short. I'd love to have a little more context behind this, as to why there is this creature and how it relates to this character. Mr Creak is an excellent horror short that shows how effective actual scares can be.
Classic, atmospheric tension-filled suspense horror.
A woman investigating a creak discovers its source.
Great concept & locale with just enough backstory.
Great tension and lighting techniques. Although it follows the typical short formula, it deserves a watch.
It looks like this was meant to spark enough interest to do a feature, a la Lights Out. I might be willing to see that, based on this, although it might turn into The Babadook if stretched over ninety minutes. I like the lead, and I wonder what the context of this sequence is. Who is the woman? The girl in the photos? What is this house? And where are the other light sources, aside from her flashlight? As it is, it's interesting enough for four minutes of your time, and if you're up for it, you can find it here.
