"Hey, Napoleon. What did you do last summer again?"
"I told you! I spent it with my uncle in Alaska hunting wolverines!"
"Did you shoot any?"
"Yes, like 50 of 'em! They kept trying to attack my cousins, what the heck would you do in a situation like that?"
"What kind of gun did you use?"
"A freakin' 12-gauge, what do you think?"
I find Napoleon Dynamite to be one of the most entertaining movies about basically nothing, ever.
Sublime sweetness. Within its endless plains and its paths to nowhere, the world of Napoleon Dynamite tells a story of discovery. No one changes or becomes who they really are, and acceptance is not on the mind of the characters. The people wandering this shaggy landscape only seek a partner for tetherball.
I made a video essay about this a little bit ago. I think it's one of my favourite comedies ever and continues to make me laugh despite how many times I've watched this thing. Only giving it 4 because, as much as I defended this in the essay, it really does lack a story and a sense of emotional attachment but who really cares it's hilarious.
Watching this movie with a group of people who haven’t seen it before is probably one of the greatest experiences you can have, like, as a human being.
I see you’re drinking 1%. Is that cause you think you’re fat? Cause you’re not. You could be drinking whole if you wanted to.
My girlfriend loved the movie, totally dug the humor, and said I reminded her of Napoleon. This is the best day of my life.
