I saw this live at the National last autumn and for some reason never logged it, suffice it to say that this 3 hour epic never feels anything less than gripping, with the tumultuous and passionate tale of two headstrong lovers capturing in sweeping scale and staging grandeur something that is fleeting, rare - it’s love, it’s war, and it is quintessentially Shakespearean.
