Basically Chronicle without the superpowers.
A surrealist, voyeuristic found footage film about a high school kid slowly losing himself and the people around him as he documents a day in his life.
Funny, awkward, haunting, gross, affecting, and above all, incredibly human. You can tell this film, as with all of Hayes' films, comes from a real life place.
Even while still in high school, Eli was displaying great directorial instincts. The format turns all of its weaknesses (shaky and unstructured camerawork, bad sound etc.) into strengths.
I'd watch this as a feature film in a heartbeat. Make it happen, Eli.
