must a movie be good? is it not enough to see bill hader wearing christmas sweaters and teaching yoga classes, huge?
you guys may hate me for this rating but.... i don't care and most importantly, i had fun! sometimes you need to enjoy the moment instead of criticizing every little thing. yes, it's cheesy. yes, it's predictable. it made me smile and tear up toward the end. i needed this film more than this film needed me. i could rewatch this again. i'm soft up on this letterboxd review today.

Santa's daughter takes down the sexist elf patriarchy and learns self love along the way. And there's a cgi baby reindeer 🎄
bill hader seamlessly making a name for himself in all forms of film is the sexiest thing i’ve ever seen
Movie: This is a movie about Santa’s daughter going to Phoenix.
Me: That’s Anna Kendrick wandering around British Columbia with an orange filter on the camera so it looks kind of hot.
Fuck it, this is more enjoyable than most other films released this year. Make no mistake - the script is bad, the characters are lazy, and it looks like it has a budget of $2. But it's also an unabashedly cheesy, big-hearted film driven by Anna Kendrick's energy and an ironclad commitment to making you feel good. It's just really cute, and it knows exactly what kind of film it is and embraces that in the fullest. Also there's an adorable reindeer in it, so it gets extra points for that.
