This film was co-produced and directed by two brothers (David and Francisco Salazar) who each had ideas for a screenplay: one dealing with LGBTQ+ issues, the other with immigration issues for Hispanics. In the end, they combined the two ideas and that's how "Nowhere" came about.
I originally rated this 2 and a half stars, but I'll be honest: after listening to the brothers explain their goal, and the work they put into this project, I had to upgrade it to 3 stars. Our current immigration system is so archaic and arbitrary that the story is completely believable.
