Synopsis
Mother Goose is on trial for obscenity because she wants to tell the "real" versions of her tales. Jack explores the Giant's wife, the Prince checks if "he" fits Cinderella and Red Riding Hood gets abused on her way to a wedding.

Mother Goose looks and acts an awfully lot like Larry Flynt. I don't think that frogs are supposed to suck like that. Even the animated candles fuck.

I'm not real big on porn, but animated fairy tale porn? Yeah, I'm there. It's a mixed bag, though. It does contain a few clever twists on the material and manages to be pretty amusing at times. I also enjoyed the Hanna-Barbera aesthetic, which feels extra-naughty. However, it has some major pacing problems and it resorts to repeated, unnecessary sequences in order to stretch the runtime. It also has some disturbing content. I knew going in to expect certain things since it's porn, like treating all women like idiotic sex objects and borderline rape. So, I give those a reluctant pass. But it also clearly depicts young children in sexual situations. It may be animated but that doesn't excuse sexualizing kids. Overall, it's a mostly dumb but fun curiosity, but it definitely has questionable content. It's basically worth one watch.

Once Upon A Girl subverted fairy tales well before Shrek. While Shrek was geared toward family-oriented audiences, this film here is just animated pornography, which has the issue of being difficult to rate in some regard considering its artistic implications. Not to say Once Upon a Girl is completely devoid of artistry, as some of the compositions of the film look quite nice, even if the animation is on a budget, in ways Hanna-Barbera and Walt Disney alumni can manage.

If you're coming in expecting a clever subversion of fairy tale stories in a similar vein as Shrek, you'll find yourself disappointed, considering the pornography and sex. It's a film…

I heard of a film that was basically described as "Scooby Doo" meets "Porn", and I was curious. It didn't take long for me to feel extremely uncomfortable.

Not including Snow White and the seven dwarfs was a missed opportunity. Half a star for the Jack and the magic beans segment, which was marginally funny.
