When the girls go out to party and the Colonia (?) beat drops: I felt that. Would easily watch a spin-off movie focused on their stories alone.
It gives a distinct Romanian cinema vibe. In a very very good way. Being very realistic in its portrait of everyday working class people on a "winter break", but also making the audience aware of the camera work and esthetic, which are both very thought through and amazing. It's a very Slovenian story of alcoholism, puking, promiscuity, fear of being alone, of not accomplishing anything, of loosing job due to negligence, and ultimately of death. Some really marvelous performances and good use of multi perspective story structure. It's been a good two years for Slovenian cinema.

This movie is divided into segments & the tremendously wry Slovenian language, humor & drinking prowess is highlighted magnificently by the inventively framed black & white photography .
And as for the ultimate recommendation - that 24+ hours later, I’m still chuckling way too loudly recalling the supreme Segment 4 involving the German Hosts, with Segment 2 involving the Partying Wives a close second.

Bittersweet ensemble. So generous, full of life, you can feel the interiority of every character, beautifully structured and it keeps surprising. What precision to nail the comedic moments inside static frames. Loved how the teenagers were subdued while the middle-aged band members are flying off the rails, the movie smartly emphasizes that they have lives and burdens outside the scope of the narrative and the tour offers a great opportunity for them to let loose.
All styles of humour - dark, slapstick, awkward- and blend that with differing cinematic styles, done in still (a la Roy Andersson) crisp B&W & it’s a winner.
a refreshingly original slovenian movie. i wish our alcoholic stamina would stop being portrayed as a laughable matter in media because the same quality of this nation has consequences in real life that leads to sui*ide and mental illness.
