Loved it when I first saw it in theatres, and after multiple rewatches I can confirm that it still absolutely slaps.
It starts off fairly slow and generic, but as we dive deeper into the twisted world of Overlord, things get dark and exciting. Some of the imagery is deeply disturbing and quite shocking, the action is hard hitting and brutal, and I was pleasantly surprised by the main cast and their performances! None of them are A-list actors, most of them unknown or barely know, but they really did impress me.
It certainly isn’t the “Call of Duty: Zombies” movie everyone was expecting, it’s inner workings and deep dive into the endless rumours and theories of nazi experimentation is much more sick and twisted than a run of the mill zombie flick. Meaning that what we got was a hell of a lot better.
Damn good movie, deserves a lot more love than it gets!
