Ted Mosby: Kids, I'm going to tell you an incredible story. The story of how your mother met Jake Peralta.
Wonderful!! Such great chemistry between Samberg and Milioti, and they’re both very funny. As is a lot of the supporting cast! Would’ve gladly taken another hour of Conner O’Malley and Meredith Hagner gags. Pleasantly surprised to see the voice behind the yellow M&M make a live-action appearance here. Been eating those for a while, that’s my boy. Seeing him shine... feels like we all done come up.
Cristin Milioti is beautiful and she has very beautiful big eyes. What is this, the 2014 film Big Eyes? Spent a few minutes wondering how I would get my obligatory Big Eyes reference into this one and I just called an audible. I promise to put more effort in the next time I watch a film starring an ocularly-blessed woman, but I am in a rush to write this so I can go to Google Trends and see the sharp uptick in searches for “cristin milioti boyfriend” this weekend. Might as well skip a step!
There have been so many riffs on the “Groundhog Day” formula that it can sometimes feel like the movies themselves are stuck in an endless time loop, but each subsequent iteration has tweaked the original in some way. “50 First Dates” stripped away the unexplainable metaphysics of it all for a romantic comedy that was equal parts Adam Sandler and Oliver Sacks. “Edge of Tomorrow” added aliens, Tom Cruise, and “Gears of War” cosplay to the mix. “Before I Fall” applied Harold Ramis’ concept to teen anxieties, “Happy Death Day” added a horror twist, “Russian Doll” revitalized it with an episodic approach (what a concept!), etcetera etcetera ad infinitum.
And yet, despite “Groundhog Day” becoming a genre unto itself, Max…
-I honestly and truly cannot think of a single better scenario than being stuck in an endless time loop with Andy Samberg and zero responsibilities
Didn’t notice the ‘The Partisan’ by Leonard Cohen needle drop the first time I watched this. In the same scene there’s a poster in the background that just says “BEER” with a photo of a horse below it. Really solid 30 seconds altogether.
cons: the fact that i can't be stuck in a time loop with andy samberg, cristin milioti and J.K. simmons for eternity
pros: literally everything else
If I were trapped in a time loop with Tyler hoechlin I'd simply not try to escape it. I'd just thank God for this opportunity Come on wolf baby daddy. That's on DEREK HALE RIGHTS
What a delight this movie is.
I know it’s probably super obvious to everyone who’s ever considered it but maybe it’s the fact that many of us are living in quarantine that’s made me realize: Time loop movies are metaphors for human existence. Every day is the same and life feels increasingly meaningless as the years wear on.
But we are so blessed if we can find someone to experience it and endure it with.

Found this to be so refreshing, especially in the 'time loop' sub-genre (?). It allows for the themes to go beyond existential repetition and instead a lovely little comic romance unfolds. Having multiple people in the same Groundhog Day situation changes all the expectations for this kind of movie. You're not focused on the protagonist learning the rules of the world they're trapped in, less involved in the process, and it becomes a cosmic playground where Andy Samberg and Cristin Milioti discover new things about each other. It's so fucking funny, too. There's a lot of scenarios in Palm Springs that you've never seen in this type of movie before, which considering how many 'time loop' projects are out these days, is high praise. And of course, J.K. Simmons is always a highlight.
what if we held hands while hallucinating dinosaurs in the desert during a starry night....... and as we're stuck in a time loop together....... ahaha, just kidding....... unless......??
im a bit confused on the concept of this “time loop paradox” but hey i love a good romantic comedy
Una "Groundhog Day" o "Edge if Tomorrow" més, entretenguda i amb encant, amb uns protagonistes amb carisma i que es fan apreciar, i una història que ofereix moments en certa forma novedosos dins aquest subgènere.
A feel good film that was easy to watch, and a fresh interpretation of the typical ground hog day style plot.
I honestly was expecting a subpar story with some good jokes but this movie pulled through. It was way better than I thought it would be with a really good story and lovable characters with great chemistry. Andy Samberg is my dad
Watch this movie to laugh, cry, laugh, and smile.
Fun movie! The two leads, Andy Samberg and Cristin Milioti who I absolutely LOVE and adore outside of this film, pull great performances with the supporting cast doing a great job as well. The plot is fun and keeps you hooked but is simple in premise. This movie is funny as well without feeling the need to make a joke whenever they can. It’s a heartwarming movie overall and will leave you with hope.

I genuinely had no idea what this movie was going to be about and I was pleasantly surprised. It’s just the kind of mindless entertainment I needed when I wasn’t feeling so great.
Nice take on a niche drama, at times it feels too ridiculous, but come on, it’s a film from the Lonely Island about time loops, you should have expected this one.
