  Paranormal Activity dips into the messy realm of facetiming.

  "What are you doing? ... Odd Robbie strikes again! ... Fuck! Oh, my God! ... He was just standing down in the kitchen ... right at the open door, just staring at it. ... He was just... What a weirdo ... It's, like, midnight."

  I remember part 4 being the one that killed my interest in this franchise, and I can see why on rewatch with how gimmicky, sloppy, and dull it is. But thankfully the ending makes it all worth it.

  This is the first in the series that I would consider a cash grab. The first three all had something unique about them, adding to a story that actually became very engaging as each movie progressed. This has none of that, and feels incredibly lazy and forced.
