LAST MOVIE!!!! Also, I'm pretty sure that this movie is why Russia interfered with our elections.
At the beginning of this they show someone playing on a Game Boy but there is no game in it... FLAW!!!!!!The series fizzles out with Police Academy: Mission to Moscow, a decline from the prior films. Lassard and the crew go to Moscow to help with a video game mafia led by Ron fucking Perlman. It's the most childish, the poorest written, and the least true to the Police Academy formula. The rest of the series may not be the best but the films are watchable and feel harmless. Mission to Moscow, by contrast, feels tedious, convoluted and cynical.
Ok I was NOT expecting Ron Pearlman and Sir Christopher Lee to be in this (What the hell were they thinking? Especially Lee?), but not even those two stood a chance of saving this mess of a movie.
Did you know there are a shit ton of Ernest movies? ...And after Ernest stopped getting released theatrically, there were another four straight-to-video releases (I've seen minutes of the later ones and they are scary bad)? I bring this up because while Jim Varney was a national treasure, the films started getting so juvenile and corny that they were difficult to watch. So imagine if you watch Ernest Scared Stupid in theatres... then immediately go to the final Ernest in the Army, without seeing the gradual decline in quality the four films between those created...
Mission to Moscow doesn't just feel like a continuation of the shitty City Under Siege, but like five increasingly awful sequels later. That's how out…
Wie erwartet der Tiefpunkt der Reihe, also hier gibt es wirklich kaum was gutes. Die Handlung ist im Vergleich zu den anderen Teilen, die ja storytechnisch auch nicht so toll waren, richtig schlecht und hizu kommt das einfach noch mehr Original-Figuren aus den Vorgängerfilmen fehlen.
Ich weiß echt nicht warum es diesen Film gibt oder warum der Cast doch verhältnismäßig relativ gut ist. Lasst euch vom Cast aber wirklich keine Hoffnungen machen, jeder spielt hier mal wieder absolut demotiviet oder einfch komplett drüber, es ist echt nicht spaßig.
Trauriger Abschluss für eine durchwachsene Filmereihe, diesen Film werde ich jetzt erstmal meiden.

So this is it, I've finally come to the end of my journey through the 'Police Academy' boxset. I've had fun revisiting it as a whole, there have been some highs and of course some lows, 'Mission to Moscow' is unfortunately sees the franchise at its lowest and you can definitely see why this was the last in the series.

Holy shit Christopher Lee is in this? Oh no Saruman…oh no. I remember seeing the name ‘Christopher Lee’ in the opening credits, but my brain didn’t register that is was The Christopher Lee. My brain must have assumed there’s no way it was actually him.
Was this a made-for-TV movie? Felt like a made-for-TV movie.
Alright that translator lady envelope bit was pretty funny.

Damn. There goes the solid record I'd been giving them.
Started off as solidly as ever. Complete with a different title presentation. But the theme stayed. Christopher Lee shows up as a Russian with an Inspector Clouseau mo and kisses the Commandant. I was laughing, having fun. Basically business as usual.
Then they disappear (alas, not to be gay with each other) and we instead focus on the precious few that returned. But, most annoyingly, we stay on the dullest replacement for Guttenberg (or Matt McCoy) imaginable, and it all falls off the rails.
Amusing wrap-up though. And a surprisingly appropriate send-off to part ways with. These may have never been great. But they all did make me laugh to varying degrees. And, in the end, that's what they were all meant to do. I look forward to upgrading these to Blu in the near future.

Mission for Moscow demonstrates that even when a film series is as creatively bankrupt as Police Academy, it is still possible to drain it of all life, character, charm and humour. Circling the very bottom of the barrel...
The majority of the cast have long vacated the series by this point, even the wannabe Steve Guttenberg replacement character has jumped ship. It’s not difficult to see why. Every facet of Mission to Moscow is beyond horrible. From the embarrassing performances, the pathetically boring direction, to a script that I can’t believe was actually “written” by someone with the capacity to think. It all culminates in what I can only describe as an “anti-comedy”.
The best way to view this film is to switch the television off just before it begins and watch a blank screen for 83 minutes.
