Woof. I think this might be the worst thing Carpenter has ever directed. That he wanted his traditional possessive credits declaration is sad. Besides which, his son did the music, it’s not written by him, and the thing is a work for hire TV show. In these post golden years, it comes across as egomaniacal.
Why do I feel like ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13 cost less than this to make? If so, why does this have terribly choreographed gun shootouts? The big monster FX are neat for an episode of “Hercules”, but seem misplaced here. Ron Perlman is bad - I didn’t think that was possible.
This is currently my least favourite “Masters of Horror” entry. Flabbergasting considering how good CIGARETTE BURNS is. Same director. Same writer. Ugh.
