A recently divorced young man discovers a mint condition Blade doll in his deceased brother's closet and plans to sell the toy at a convention in Oregon celebrating the 30th anniversary of the infamous Toulon Murders. This movie is insane and I adore it. It’s equal opportunity offensive in every way and that is my kind of entertainment. I love how they basically created a plot to get all of these marginalized/minority characters together for the puppets to kill them in incredibly mean spirited ways! Speaking of the puppets, I was really worried that I wasn’t going to dig the new look because I high key love the original crew, but I ended up really digging these as well. Definitely my favorite Puppet Master sequel and possibly my favorite Puppet Master movie period. The puppet design is excellent and the kills, practical effects and gore were disturbingly brilliant.
Was soll ich sagen? "The Littlest Reich" macht das dreckige Dutzend der Puppet Master-Filme voll. Und von den vier (der insgesamt 12 (!) Teile), die ich gesehen habe, ist er definitiv der härteste. Es werden Gedärme aus Körpern geschlitzt, Babys aus dem Mutterleib gebohrt und ein Enthaupteter darf sogar auf seinen eigenen Kopf pinkeln. Der Rest ist mit einigen B-Film-Nasen angefüllter Killerpuppen-Standard. Wir erfahren mit ein paar guten und ein paar weniger gelungenen Dialogen wie ein paar gute und ein paar weniger gelungene Figuren anlässlich einer Toulon-Convention in einem Hotel von seinen Nazi-Marionetten massakriert werden. Das braucht, um in Fahrt zu kommen, mausert sich aber zur amüsanten Splatter-Puppen-Party, die genau weiß, wer bespaßt werden soll. Und die dann auch mit einer unerwartet bittersüßen Note endet.

This was on sale for $0.99 on Amazon and I am pretty sure it was a mistake and considering my love/hate relationship with Charles Band I sure as fuck jumped on that shit.
Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich is my kind of movie. Everything about this entry in the never-ending series felt like a slasher. The kills were gory as fuck. There was nudity and the movie followed the horror movie rule. The movie was built upon a mystery in the Agatha Christie way, but it worked.
Look, I understand this movie isn't for everyone. However, the low price of my digital copy and the amount of fun I had watching this completely passed any expectations I might have had at the beginning of the movie.
Double Feature Alert: Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich and Dollman would be an excellent night. They might not go together but how can you say no to Tim Thomerson?

"Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich" has a good performance by scream queen Barbara Crampton, well-done and very funny practical effects that combine with the cheesy atmosphere, a touch of audacity in some death scenes and a logical plot that respects the past of the series and creates an interesting new premise.
Talking about the audacious death scenes, two of them are simply fantastic: one involving a decapitation in a bathroom and another one, more shocking, involving, how can I put it... a reverse c-section!

This one carries tons of polarized opinions. Sure, the puppets are completely redone, and I know there's attachments to the ones we had for more than ten films. But I think they actually did (all but one of) these puppets right. It feels like a modern slasher with a handful of brutal moments and the acting is above average for the franchise as a whole. Yet I do have my complaints as well. I just complimented the acting, but the lead did talk fast and mumble some of his lines, and proper articulation is essential for lead roles. There's also the fact that the puppets were always best in their roles as anti-heroes killing Nazis rather than being them, but…
Hardly a movie and more of an extended excuse to string together gore gags... not that that's a problem when there are so many of them and they're all this good. Wish Thomas Lennon were a better leading man, wish the cinematography didn't look so damn digital (especially in the first act), and hell, I wish it was more tasteless (not that it's tasteful, mind you). Still, a ton of mean-spirited fun in a theater (and I imagine it'll still be a blast alone at home). I wasn't over the moon about Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich, but it's a definite improvement on the abysmal third act from Toys that it has shades of, and I'm still hyped as hell for the sequels.
