  Alicia Vikander is simply one of the best actresses of our time...in this film she shows her vulnerable side in a very believable way.
  All in all, a very strong acting debut from her and a good film except for the predictable ending.

  Perfect example when you’re giving an utterly average Film the soundtrack of the GOATS. Don’t know how this music from Wolfgang and Ludwig van could give this film everything it wants to be. And I’m still wondering how I could be so much into the Film emotionally. Viva la Ludwig van Viva la mozart!

  Pure as a film is an utter mess, with it thematically being quite muddy and it is difficult to comprehend whether or not it is saying the right things. The ending is something else and it is one of the darker 'cinderella' stories I've seen - without spoiling too much, it gets to its happy-ish ending through some really disturbing plot movements and it honestly put in my knot in my stomach. I don't know if I agree with anything this film has to say, but it sure well made me feel something. A lot of that is down to Vikander's rangy performance, which would be go out of control is lesser hands, but constantly feels like an expanding character…

  Anybody who wonders where the hell Alicia Vikkander came from since she seemed to appear out of nowhere and was in what seemed like 7 films last year and now is up for an oscar should watch this film. Every moment in this film is owned by her and her character. You can't help but feel sorry for the poor girl who can't seem to get her life together despite the saving grace of classical music and the men who make her life terrible and use her for her body which she mistake for love while she dumps the true man who liked her because he enjoyed tv and video games rather than classical music and poetry.   Pure is a Swedish film with impressive acting and breathtaking music. Alicia Vikander in particular shines in her very first role, delivering a compelling and nuanced performance that enhances the film. The use of Mozart's and Beethoven's music throughout the film is simply beautiful and provides a perfect setting for the story. The film looks clean and polished and while it excels in the areas just mentioned, it lags a bit in others.   Alicia Vikander's debut film Pure was unrefined. a woman scorned for her lack of education and her past sexual encounters, this was her getting even through unabashed confidence, desperation, and persistence. the desire to taste 'elitism'—Kierkegaard, poetry, classical music among other things—and again be scorned for falling in love with someone unattainable, otherworldly, as if her eyes laid upon a goldmine for the first time. it's both a heartbreaking and painful parade once all the glimmer of things too-good-to-be-true turn into something illicit, thrilling, and dangerous; it bordered obsession and abuse; it's vengeance. Vikander gave a powerhouse performance and I was completely stunned with her acting prowess considering this was her debut film.

  it is also important to note that the feminist musings of Pure did not get lost in the way amid its intended moments of absurdity. and what an ending!

  Terrific, terrific, terrific!! A young, still striking (my goodness 😍😍) relatively unknown 23 year old Alicia Vikander before she took off in 14' is amazing here. If you haven't seen Alicia's earlier, THIS is the right movie to start!

  2015 may be the year of Vikander, but wow has she been brilliant for a long time. I hate to make such a rash statement so early on, but Alicia Vikander’s range, depth, and nuances may be unmatched. I have succumbed to the year of Vikander and I don’t ever want to go back.

  Good god, Alicia Vikander brings an obsessively ravishing debut in this Swedish psychological drama, underseen by many. Hopefully not in the future though as I'm sure plenty would like to see the start of the actress's promising career.
