Alright anime tearjerker, you win. You made me cry. First you clickbait me into thinking that there's gonna be anime bunny girls in the series, now you took me into an emotional rollercoaster. But instead of feeling exhausted, tired or puking after the ride, I'm happy for what I experienced.

Damn, y’know I love the show, but the movie really impressed me. It wasn’t that the animation was better or anything like that, it just had a sense of finality to it and a true sense of urgency.
The movie has a ticking clock, or a countdown, or a timer, and that’s one of my favorite tropes in film, and this movie succeeds in making it exciting and engaging, with constant twists and turns, and an absolutely fantastic third act which ties the entire series together beautifully.
I think the movie is even better than I’m thinking, as my theater experience wasn’t great (ex: Speakers were too loud so high noises such as crying felt jarring). I need to rewatch it. 

WATCH THE SHOW, it starts slow but picks up by the second episode.

The emotional leap from the series to the film is absolutely mawd.

Rascal does not dream of a dreaming girl is problematic. Firstly, it relies on fan service way too much to liken the audience to the film. It also relies on previously known inside jokes from the Anime way too much.  Secondly, and this is the biggest problem the film suffers from, is its writing. It isn’t as sharp, witty and concise or as thought out as it’s Anime version. The film relies on a series of Sophie Choice’s to add drama and a bunch of twist, turns and time travel to explain it all. All that adds up to is a messy film with a lot of questions. 

However, it’s characters and the goodwill that it has garnered from its fantastic Anime gives the film the heart and emotional beat. If not for the amazing Anime that the film follows up, this film would be a complete and utter mess. However, the characters definitely make the film come to life.

When I started I didn't expect much from the show or movie but this shit really surprised me , had great storytelling and writing . I enjoyed it thoroughly and made me love with the characters . Really loved this experience .

This is quite literally the greatest anime movie I’ve ever watched. I was already a huge fan of the series, but this movie took all the best parts of the anime series and turned it into something simply magical. Emotionally poignant story beats combined with the witty dialogue of the original that made it such a joy to watch blossom in this wonderful film. Mai and Sakuta’s relationship is at its peak and represent just what makes their chemistry so special; all with a strong emotional core and satisfying ending. Major props to the stellar voice acting from Kaito Ishikawa and Asami Seto, alongside the amazing soundtrack.
