  Mads was in the best movie of last year, and I'll be shocked if I see any movie that comes even halfway close to how good this was. If you go into this expecting the movie that the poster promises, you will be wildly thrown for a loop. Yes, Mads is a badass soldier with nothing to lose out for revenge on the biker gang that killed his wife, but as that premise develops, it becomes something so much more, something extremely funny and deeply moving about coincidence and how we live with trauma and make sense of all the shit that happens to us. Ultimately it is not too different from Another Round in that it's about men at a certain point in their life needing each other and coming together to rock. I cannot praise this movie enough. Run don't walk.

  Ich bin ohne großes Vorwissen in „Helden der Wahrscheinlichkeit“ gegangen - kein Trailer, keine Infos zum Cast oder der Regie. Das lässt die Erfahrung dieser tiefschwarzen Farce einerseits doppelt einwirken, andererseits zeugt es vom Genie von Anders Thomas Jensen, dessen Name mir unentwegt durch den Kopf ging. Das hier müsse doch eindeutig von dem Mann sein, der mit „Adams Äpfel“ einst einen meiner Lieblingsfilme gedreht hat, glaubte ich zu wissen.

  So, und weil ich Filmwissenschaftssuperprofessor Dr. David bin, hatte ich natürlich recht. „Helden der Wahrscheinlichkeit“ ist bitterböse und zuckersüß zugleich, todtragisch und zum Totlachen, einfühlsam und einfach nur rüpelhaft - quasi die gesamte Essenz von Jensens Schaffen.   Anders Thomas Jensen's Riders of Justice is a revenge thriller that smartly subverts genre trappings. It's wickedly hilarious, surprisingly poignant and delightfully deranged farce about the randomness of life, also blurs lines of morality crossed when seeking revenge. Mads Mikkelsen is, obviously, fantastic, but it’s the supporting cast that makes the movie.

  From Krzysztof Kieślowski to Ashton Kutcher, many of cinema’s greatest thinkers have been fascinated by the mind-boggling “what ifs” of blind chance and the butterfly effect. The movies — painstakingly constructed alternate realities that are created by exerting an unnatural degree of control over the randomness of the universe — have a funny way of calling to the kinds of people who look for patterns in the chaos around them (and perhaps a way to control it).

  Danish filmmaker Anders Thomas Jensen is definitely one of them, and we ought to be mighty grateful for whatever strange quirks of fate brought the “Men & Chicken” director to his latest project. While “Riders of Justice” might introduce itself as a death-dark revenge…

  I have monumental daddy issues and I love a man in a uniform so this is practically porn. I had like 10 different Lana del Rey's songs playing in my head whenever he was on the screen.

  This is the first time Anders Thomas Jensen let Mads be hot AND there were no dead animals. Still, they just had to mention that a dog got run over. Come on, Denmark. Stop freaking me out with animal killing nonchalance.

  Such a weird but wholesome story, as always in Jensen's films. The Ikea line killed me. Great performances from the entire cast especially Nikolaj Lie Kaas.

  Mads Mikkelsen can do no wrong. He is one of the most versatile working today. He effortlessly goes from Hollywood blockbuster, to acting in a film from his native Denmark. Simply put, the man is money.

  Riders of Justice has enough action to please the action fanatic, and it has a lot of story and drama to impress the hard to satisfy film connoisseur.
