  This film is beneath a rating to be completely honest.
  It's not even so bad that it's funny; it's just purely numbing, and nowhere close to it being in a good way.

  I wanted to write something up about this real quick, because it pisses me off to see themes of suicide butchered in movies and TV.

  Rock is the worst kind of bad. Not even hilariously rewatchable bad. The director, Chris J Farrow says this is a real film so I will judge it like one and it’s terrible. The story is too vague, the acting is over the top and it’s so boring and uninteresting. The audio and camerawork is bafflingly terrible. The premise of someone who connects with a rock is a cool concept but it was executed poorly. The worst part is that the film basically promotes suicide and this comes off as insensitive. I’m not an easily offended person but this offended me. Rock suffers from an edgy and pretentious ego of Chris J Farrow which results in an insufferable film. Thanks for hyping the film for nearly 2 years and wasting our time Farrow.

  In an odd way, this has technically been a film I've been waiting for longer than any film before. The director responsible for this is someone who initiated something very important to me, which I absolutely cannot take for granted, and that is the rather large film community that I participate in on both Instagram and here on Letterboxd. Through Farrow's group chat, I met so many people who have inspired me to no end, and even some individuals who have become some of my closest and dearest friends.

  i was looking through my phone downloads for something i had downloaded a while ago, and i stumbled upon the most glorious sight. A copy of Rock.   Can you like... please NOT promote suicide? You know that's a serious and sensitive topic, don't you, and the way you explored and executed it was so distasteful with little to no substance, and the music, audio, cinematography, GOSH I suspect wether if you've ever even picked up a camera and filmed for five minutes before.

  And holy shit this was terrible.
  So many kinds of awful.

  Promoting and glorifying suicide like this is just horrible. Chris tries to deal with topics too mature and raw for his bottom of the barrel, middle school quality “filmmaking”.

  The added history behind this project makes me even more upset.

  Easily one of the most painful and boring experiences of my entire life.

  Chris J Farrow’s Rock is everything an aspiring filmmaker should actively avoid.

  There’s just too much to say. Not a single good aspect of it.

  Even considering the literal no budget and no prior filmmaking experience from Chris, Rock is one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen.

  I don’t know if Chris J Farrow is ever gonna see any of the reviews here on Lbxd for this but I do feel the need to write something up quick because I think he needs to evaluate and grow from this whole experience.

  Dear Chris,

  The movie is not good. You can read countless reviews on here that will break it down for you. There are tons of critical issues thematically, conceptually, and cinematically. But I do want to put a semi-positive spin on my words because I don’t wish failure nor would I ever wish something like depression/suicidal thoughts on anyone.

  Because the director wants this to be considered as "not a student film or a community project" but as a real independent film, I will judge it this way. I will start by saying this is possibly the worst film I have ever seen in my entire life and is offensive on so many levels.

  I think the portrayal of self-harm and suicide is unforgivable. As someone who has suffered with anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts (you name it) I was deeply insulted by how Farrow chose to portray these sensitive and serious issues, and instead of comforting or reassuring me (Farrow claims he makes films for the "lonely" and "suicidal") the film gave me horrible flashbacks to some of the…
