After much deliberation, I decided I’ll most likely be watching Sadak 2. But I can understand if anyone is boycotting it until the air clears up with the investigations into Mahesh Bhatt’s texts with Rhea Chakraborty.
An old movie shouldn't be judged like the modern films or compared with them.
Now coming onto the movie, it was a decent flick with great songs and SANJAY BABA DUTT in MASS AVATAR
3/5
Mahesh Bhatt takes the Jodie Foster angle from Taxi Driver but never exploits it fully..it starts of well but the flow is interrupted by too many songs(even though they are memorable)..The star of the show is the late versatile Sadashiv Amrapurkar(also born on the same day as me)..Fluctuating between menacing and comical he steals the thunder every scene he is in..Not a bad movie per se but you cant expect more from a desi version of an acclaimed classic.
A single song made this film famous I think , other than that it has got nothing new.
The best part of the movie is the music. The second best is the way the goons run through the water during the climax. So worth it.

They clearly banked on Martin’s “Taxi Driver” anyway possible and so I took the time to watch it and they have no filter when it comes to taking Marty’s cult classic. Unoriginal.
If "Taxi Driver" remains a nightmare you force yourself through, "Sadak" is what you remember of it the following morning - or fifteen years later, half a world away, for the benefit of friends looking to be consoled and entertained. By their closing act, with Sanju throwing roundhouse kicks at anyone left standing between him and his gal, the Bhatts have pretty much put up their hands and acknowledged that their inspiration is all but inimitable; indeed, having their hero lashed to a makeshift cross by thugs suggests they got bored and decided to remake a then-recent Scorsese title instead. If they'd kept going, they could have packed their taxi driver off to Tibet to become the next Dalai Lama.
