It's a shame how much effort everyone seems to be putting into this wack as hell story, just to create what probably ended up as the most forgettable movie of the holiday season. I don't know what could have really saved it - maybe just a simple cohesiveness?
If you don't know by now, yet for some reason are still reading this, "Second Act" has two vastly different halves of movies glued together by an incredibly awkward plot revelation. Neither of the halves are outright terrible, but it's astounding to me how silent my audience was during the post-reveal hour of this film.
Can't blame Lopez or Hudgens for not bringing it to the table here (bless you Charlyne Yi for having too much fun with this assignment). It's just baffling to me that they basically had to bring it to two fucking tables that were across the studio lot from each other.
