Where to even begin in describing Ishii?
I suppose to easiest way to describe the work of Katsuhito Ishii and this movie by extension would be to ask you to first imagine Takashi Miike. Now make him even crazier some how.
Ishii is weird. Really weird. And by weird I mean specifically repulsive and surreal. His films are full of outrageous characters, perverse sexuality, body horror and often extreme degrees of violence that are really difficult to find anywhere else.
