the fact that the brutal murdering of that old man was in sync with "don't stop me now" by queen is utterly breathtaking, truly masterful work.
Yeah, if your only options are Sign O' The Times, Purple Rain and Batman you're definitely going to use Batman as a weapon, but surely you've got worse albums than Batman to toss at zombies? It's really not that bad of an album. Of course when you compare it to the gargantuan success of every other Prince release in the 80s it is going to feel slight, but it has some moments of Prince's musical genius spread throughout. Partyman is exactly the type of track that gets everyone on the dancefloor moving and Batdance is so schlocky and fun that I don't see how anyone can hate it. this is the pinnacle of gay cinema and also my favourite movie of all time
Surprisingly works better for me from a dramatic standpoint than a comedic one. It's still really funny, but I'm also incredibly invested in Shaun trying to repair and come to grips with his relationships in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. Tons of stellar scenes and impeccable direction make this a blast to revisit.
Just rewatched it with my pops. He fell asleep but I loved it just as much the second time. Such a goofy ride, not sure how you can’t smile while watching this.

shaun having self-esteem issues and self doubt instead of fighting zombies, in the middle of a zombie attack, is peak relatability
