So, there are two people named Martha in this movie and yet fighting still occurs in the Civil War? Surely the filmmakers know that two people named Martha in one movie makes the fighting stop? Why were movies so illogical back in the old days?
All stupid jokes aside, this movie combines the best elements of westerns and incorporates a message about war while tackling loss at the same time.
Jimmy Stewart knocks it out of the park, per usual, and engulfs two key scenes that make the movie. It was a beauty taking in his performance while the themes ran a muck under his expressive face.
Plus the war scenes, choreography wise, are well done and feature a good booming sound quality that adds to the atmosphere and the frightening aspect of the war itself.
Shenandoah may look hard to pronounce, but you're sure to want to learn how in order to spread the word about this one.
