This one felt disposable. Take a sappy inspirational sports formula and combine it with white savior complex (English, multiracial at least).
And in general, I kinda push back against white saviorism criticism, as I think it's become too overused in any situation a white character helps a poc in a film. But this one feels guilty of it. Especially since the advertisement, from the trailer to the poster to the title, makes you think it's primarily a coming of age film for an Indian teenaged girl.
