Angela Baker escapes from a mental hospital and surfaces at a summer camp as a counselor who lectures her teenage charges on proper moral behavior. Those teens who break her strict rules -- from the camp chatterbox or a sex-obsessed girl to the boys who are peeping Toms -- are murdered by the impostor in various gruesome ways. As more campers go missing, intrepid counselor Molly begins to piece together the truth.

Angela is really too enthusiastic about her job, determined to give the kids of Camp Rolling Hills the camping experience she herself was not able to have at Camp Arawak which was full of mean kids and corrupt staff. The campers and counselors of Camp Rolling Hills are not mean or corrupt, but they cannot meet Angela's impossible standards of camp conduct which have nothing to do with how people actually behave at summer camp. This, I am sorry to say, ends in tragedy. Sleepaway Camp II makes me so very happy and wistfully sad all at the same time. More or less a revamp of the first film with a little more black humor thrown in, picking up with Pamela Springsteen really nailing her role as Angela—happy go lucky kumbaya one minute to shoving someone in an outhouse hole and drowning them in piss n shit—from making a can of peas to pouring acid out of a car battery and into a mug before tossing it in someones face. She really takes her counselor job seriously, all misbeahavers must be punished!

Fun fact: Pamela Springsteen, who plays the killer here, is the sister of Bruce Springsteen and final girl Renée Estevez is the sister of Charlie Sheen.
There's no hiding who the killer is this campy sequel to Sleepaway Camp. We know two minutes into the movie. Gone are the red herrings, and POV kills from the original. This isn't bad, because the kills are insanely hilarious, and done in a way that would make any money shot kill lover smile with pure joy. Among the weapons of destruction are: a knife, cordless drill, fire, acid, the toilet, Leatherface's chainsaw and choke wire. Almost every kill counted, and I must give mad props to special effects artist Dick Cross, who would later do the effects for Speed 2. Well done, Mr. Dick! Less wacky than the first one, but it's still plenty of fun! Pamela Springteen is no Felissa Rose, but she makes it work as Angela v.2. The movie contains a couple of fun, enthusiastic sex scenes and a noteworthy kill involving leeches and an outhouse.

This movie was a buzzkill, and that really pisses me off.
You know a movie is fucking horrible when I wake and bake yet it not only fails to entertain me but makes me regret I was even breathing. I like pretty much anything aside from torture porn when I'm high. Yes, I think it's that fucking awful. And I love slashers. I love campy slashers. I love anything '80s in general.
