I really don't get all the hate.
The movie's a little convenient here and there, but an otherwise really good, fast-paced, high-octane thriller. It's not original, but seriously entertaining and really well done. The characters decisions aren't always those of geniusses, but there's a recognizable thought or impulse, apart from idiocy, behind every one. Cops act like cops, mothers like mothers, etc... instead of morons. The movie actually deals out all the information necessary for the suspense to work. Things I just don't see very often in other genre movies these days.
It's better than most movies I've seen this year and cleverer than most other run-of-the-mill thrillers that have come out in the past five to ten years. Obviously not counting auteur films or the work of other well-known directors (Park, Tarantino, Boyle, de Palma, Fincher etc...).
