SYNOPSIS: After status-obsessed teen Sara has sex for the first time, she wakes up the next day nine months pregnant-with an alien.
If you happen to appreciate moderately dark humor and a new spin on old horror tropes, this film is a good watch. There is no part of this film that takes itself seriously. It moves quickly, the characters are static and the screenplay is one of the most underrated of the entire 2019…
Almost like if Joe Dante directed a Diablo Cody screenplay. Mary Nepi is exceptional.
Sara (Mary Nepi), the new mother of an ancient body-possessing crustacean, only has her bookworm friend Hayley (Gabrielle Elyse) to confide in as the pair avoid her mother, screeching offspring, and another sudden alien pregnancy with a gestation period of just one day.
Maybe from being composed of twenty-five short webisodes, this sci-fi/horror farce doesn't quite catch the right consistency. Unlike the similar Slither (2006), its first act's dominoes fall too quickly shoehorning much character-building later on when action should start letting the story naturally coast. Flow is far from disjointed, but this deep-seated issue might be an artifact from stringing together segments into a feature.
At least the cast is more than up to the task, especially Nepi and…
Funny enough, for a movie about murderous offspring, I'm happy to report that fans of "Shaun of the Dead" are growing up, and the future of horror/comedy is in good hands! If the new trend is for well-trod franchises to start handing off the reigns to their new, younger counterparts, this should be the blueprint for how it's done. Although not a direct sequel or reboot to any one film, "Snatchers" feels like the really cool offspring of any dozen of your favorite movies. It's got "Alien"'s eyes, "Clueless"' cheekbones, OH! And look there...who could mistake "Snatchers"'s adorable, widdle crash zoom montages...you get those from your daddy...don't you, you itty-bitty, widdle homage-fest....yes, you DO!
I really enjoyed this. Some really…
Quick Review
Hayley: "This better be the last time I see that butthole tonight."
I loved it. Snatchers felt like something Sam Raimi or Joe Dante would've done as a side project in their prime, with a bit of Edgar Wright's quirky style as bonus. Snatchers, or "the adventures of the head-hopping, skull-crushing and womb-bursting teenage chastity monster" is one of the more underseen comedy-horrors of 2019 from debuting writer-director-editors Stephen Cedars and Benji Kleiman (along with co-writer Scott Yacyshyn). Though it never fully reaches the zenith of terror, the film is still filled with the most inappropriately zany humor (crapton of horny jokes, xenophobic gag against Mexico among other things) and all the blood and guts that gorehounds would…
Snatchers is a horror comedy that features snarky teeny bopper dialogue, cool looking vag monsters, annoyingly likable leads, mayan curses, a douchey dipshit bf, good practical effects, and lots of bloodletting.
The creatures have stingers on their tails that they use to control ppl by piercing the back of their necks. Which results in alot of head hopping shenanigans!
Queasy, Cheesy fun throughout!!

Was going to rate this 3/5 but for the lame and hilarious humour throughout this movie it deserves a 3.5/5.
This movie kept me laughing all the way with its over the top scenarios and funny scenes! Well worth the watch for a mindless laugh-fest
Teen pregnancy is a monster.
I'm gonna do a review Theo style: This was like if Juno went to a party Edgar Wright hosted and had a one night stand with Alien.
So, I just looked at the poster and was in the mood for a light-watch so I said ''oh, this looks cool, I'll watch it''.
This movie is the story of Sara, a girl that has sex with her ex-boyfriend and gets pregnant... Yes, that's generally bad, but in Snatchers it is 10 times worse, cause the next day she has a nine-months pregnant belly and is carrying an alien fetus in her womb.
The humor is super dark and dumb. it's a bizarre movie, maybe the wost…
This was a delightfully odd horror comedy that was able to keep the laughs coming while also serving up some gross moments. The premise is interesting enough, but it is complemented by some really funny moments and it knows how to play the blood and guts for laughs. The film is not without a flaw here or there, but it was simply fun to watch. When she gives birth to the alien, it causes the doctors head to explode and then she later refers to it as her vag-cannon. That's hilarious. I don't care if you think so or not. I will never not laugh at that.
That one hell of a curse!
From losing her virginity to firing out critters in like a day. Yikes
Its fun, and the creatures look great, and I got a laugh at the paddle weapon. Smack those creatures bottys mamma.
How is no one talking about this fun horror comedy? It’s campy but takes me back to the days of Tremors and eight legged freaks. Love the alien concept and truly a blast of a time
Doesn't just inhabit the spirit of Ghoulies with its toilet humor and mini monsters, but also is the opposite of a dude bro throwback horror comedy with themes of abortion and female friendship. Like these people grew up with all the good stuff but don't flaunt it. Can't say enough good things about it. Looks and sounds great, too.
