Amy Yasback has the unenviable task of filling the void left by Hannah and while not quite able to replace Hannah she is surprisingly charming enough to not embarrass herself trying. Otherwise this movie is trash. A blatant attempt to wring out some extra profit from a beloved property without spending a dime more than is absolutely necessary for the production. If this were an indie or a student film the amateurish quality could be somewhat excused. This isn't low budget film making. This is fast food.
A sequel no one asked for, Splash, Too is a TV movie made four years after the success of the Hanks/Hannah original. When I found out about it, saw that it was - like many TV movies - on YouTube, I decided I had to see it. And really, curiosity is just about the only reason to do that. Four years after the events of the feature film, where we were told Alan could never return to New York if he chose love, the couple returns and attempt a normal life in a Los Angeles suburb, only a short drive away from NYC. Off-brand Alan looks more like Jim Carey than Tom Hanks and all the wigs are terrible, but…
I don't usually write about TV movies (actually I wasn't aware this was one until just before putting it on - that poster art is pretty snazzy for a movie that doesn't seem to have even made it to DVD…) but I wasted good time tracking this down and watching it again, plus I have more to say about it than I expected too…
Let's make no mistake, this shouldn't have happened. Somebody should have said "stop," when they realised they only had a TV budget and the only actor they could get from the original was Dody Goodman (poor girl - she was one of only few who returned for Grease 2, too - I love Grease 2, by…
COME ON DISNEY I know you have this in your valut along with Song of the south why won't you Release these already😡🤬. On Disney +
But anyway on with the review. Finally found this but I had to watch this in French with no English subtitles really I honestly really hate that. I cant find the English dub anywhere. But anyway this was fine but did we really need a sequel
Splash, Too
Like the worst writer from Full House had a brain aneurysm and then wrote a movie.
If you fall into an empty pool, or an oversized 50's hair drier, the union still lets you go to work writing for Buena Vista TV in 1989. The stipulations are: Nothing can offend Michael Eisner, we need a role for either Whoopi Goldberg or Bette Midler FULLFILLED
Or we will dump everything backlot style with some boy meets world writers and a monkey into a bunker for three days and shake it like a tumbler
Fuzz bucket, nutty professor (pic link), mr boogedy,
Obviously indebted to this era of Disney channel telefilm, and the gurl it reminds me of (see: Oz,…
Famously the first movie filmed at Disney–MGM Studios Park at Walt Disney World. Michael Eisner probably drank a lot of piss in the 80s.
Completely forgot this movie existed. Now I will have to re watch Mannequin Two : On the Move...
Don’t watch this movie unless you’re interested in seeing the first movie shot at Disney-MGM Studios (and EPCOT Center, and I think Discovery Island?). Was it worth it to see Amy Yasbeck riding a Seacab? Not really.
Possibly the worst film I’ve ever seen, but enjoyed seeing EPCOT used as a set. One star for location.
