  I love anthology horror movies and this one is composed of 10 short stories, which means it comes with the usual problem you see with anthologies of more than 4 stories: some are very good and others are very not.

  I really liked Grim Grinning Ghost, Trick, and Ransom, but my favorite was Bad Seed because duh it’s about a giant killer pumpkin and that’s my kind of bullshit.

  The rest were so-so to bad. Darren Lynn Bousman’s segment just continued to back my argument that he flew off the rails after Mother's Day. I mean, did you see Abattoir?

  With each October rolling in, I know eventually I’ll be watching Tales of Halloween, which has become more enjoyable everytime I watch it. Out of the ten segments on two don’t really work for me, and that’s a fair bargain because even with the ones I disliked I was never bored. I would love a feature length Grim Grinning Ghost spookfest to see the light of day. 

  I know tons of folks hate this and think it’s boring or whatever lobotomized verbal diarrhea swill they want to say to project their misery gorged negativity boners, but for me this become an October tradition along with Trick r Treat—and it’s a great way to start off nightfall on the 31st of October 🎃

  Multi-director Halloween Anthologies are the cinematic equivalent of going out Trick Or Treating and getting a bunch of random candy and whatnot from people you barely know or not at all and coming back home to dump out your plastic jack-o-lantern in front of the tv and sorting your haul into piles of most-desired, will-eat and trade-to-others so I generally feel charitable towards them even if two-thirds is merely tolerable or less-than-tolerable. For the record, the ones I liked the best were 'Trick' by Adam Gierasch (who I will always have a warm place for in my heart), 'This Means War' by John Skipp and Adam Kasch (which I liked mostly to see James Duval (in a Crowbar t-shirt) put…

  Shudder Film #3

  So, it was kind of exciting at first, then got disjointed and boring, then featured a cool Lin Shaye cameo. Just be prepared for a lighthearted yet super gory time.

  I enjoyed this even more this time around. Ten tales in 90 mins. Most of them revolve around trick or treating so you have all the nostalgia feels plus nasty tales and gross effects. Definitely will be making this an October staple.

  Some fun "campfire" stories with surprisingly decent production value. The stories, themselves, aren't anything groundbreaking and don't do much to truly intrigue me. For what they are, though, they're fun and cute.

  As the title suggests, this is an anthology film focusing on the American favourite holiday Halloween. The film features a massive ten tales, meaning it's actually more like a short film collection than an actual horror anthology. As with all of these sorts of films; success rests on how good each individual story is and...well...it varies. I think the problem for the most part is that each segment is so short that none of them really give much chance for the audience to really get their teeth in.   31. Adam Green was born today in 1975. Watch any film that he was involved with.

  I feel like I've gorged on Halloween candy in April.

  10 shorts which is a lot to stuff down in one sitting. Laughs, treats, tricks, and a feeling I'd had enough, some of the sweets started to taste the same.

  I enjoyed Sweet Tooth, Ransom, Friday 31st, Ding Dong and Bad Seed the most. Will dig it out again around Halloween.
