  Why would you cast Johnny Knoxville as the voice of Leonardo, the straight-laced leader of the group? Johnny Knoxville is obviously a Michelangelo, or maybe (maybe!) an out-of-the-box pick for Raphael (who would then express his angst via self-flagellating stunts). And why are these Turtles so jacked? It’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Not Bodybuilding Steroidal Ninja Turtles. Is their favorite pizza topping creatine? This is perhaps the 21st century’s worst movie featuring turtles, mutants, ninjas, or teenagers.

  Let's not pretend the old NINJA TURTLES was Chaucer. Whatever its roots in indie comics, it was silly, cheesy kids stuff. But at least it made sense in its own strange way. At least the designs were appealing. At least the vibe was poppy and enthusiastic. This new NINJA TURTLES makes zero sense, looks like garbage (or, in the case of Splinter, a giant, walking penis), and has all the energy of a coma patient. I can't wait until I have children, so I can dedicate myself to making sure they never, ever watch this movie.

  (Also, what self-respecting New Yorker, turtle or no, eats Pizza Hut pizza? That's even crazier than Splinter teaching himself martial arts from a book.)

  this was dumb but i cant hate a movie where 4 of the giant ghoulies from the end of ghoulies 2 - one of them really horny - team up with the sumatran rat monkey to beat up chrome cyborg jason x, whose knife gloves hold a glowing cannister of neon slime

  needs a flashback where the young turtles peer up from a sewer grate to see 9/11 happen

  i don't really care that this is total stupid nonsense (it's for 10-year-olds, who gives a shit?), or that Will Arnett is playing Hank Azaria from GODZILLA, or even that a bunch of born-and-raised New Yorkers would willingly eat Pizza Hut. this sucks because the creature designs are awful, the CG is atrocious, and the Turtles themselves are completely obnoxious.
