I mean let's be honest here, this is real bad. I wish that the shoestring budget and grassroots filmmaking made it better, but it doesn't.
It's incredible that even films of this scope are now capable of using drones for establishing shots, though. That technology has really improved the look of even the most low budget film. The regularity with which they play around with the frame rate does cheapen it, unfortunately. It makes it look like footage from a tourism board.
The best thing I can say about it is it's mercifully brief, and that crow man looked pretty good.

AM-FM Day 2
Though lacking in a lot of the technical skills of countries with a history in cinema, what this shows is excitement for the future. Much like pregnancy which is both exciting and terrifying, this film shows that same feeling as the first film submitted from Uganda to the Academy. Lots of interesting ideas that I hope can be articulated in the future

Tembele has become the first ever International Feature submission for Uganda. And it’s so incredible to have watched this film and to see Morris Mugisha create his story filmed in the busy streets of Kampala. The film is a simple one, following a married couple Tembele and Mawe as they’re expecting their first child. As Mawe is now in her ninth month of pregancy, Tembele is super excited to welcome a son into the family.
Tembele works as a garbage man along with his best friend Segi. They work 12 hours a day picking up trash in the chaotic capital of Uganda.…
