An intriguing story, told in an uninteresting way. Everything was just portrayed in such a shallow fashion, from the characters to the story itself, that all the big moments, the fascinating drama and the intensity, they all feel watered down, uninspired and characterless.
It isn’t a bad movie, but it tried to be a thriller and/or a drama, and fails to deliver both ways.
That being said, I thought the performances were good and it was quite a compelling story indeed, one that informed me about a lot and made me interested in learning more about the subject. To imagine that it was based on a real person’s actions makes it even more fascinating, which was probably the main reason why I managed to get involved in the plot right until the end.
Shame about the lack of depth, which turned this into a mediocre, or at least uninteresting film for me.
