I'm a sucker for music docs.
I love when they get famous people to talk about how great other famous people are, while some old banger plays. I'm a sucker for the old record executives with the same haircut they had in the 70s explaining how studio sessions went down.
There's nothing particularly fascinating about his doc from a filmmaking perspective, it's just a well made documentary about an all-time great pop group.
The Bee Gees are an incredible group, people often forget about the career they had before the disco era as well, they wrote some truly beautiful ballads. This doc also serves as a reminder that nothing lasts forever. This added perspective and made it a bit more…

At the end of the film Barry said he'd give away all the hits to have his brothers back and I full ugly cried in the cinema.
Better-than-average music doc briefly finds another level when Marshall juxtaposes Disco Demolition night at Comiskey with The Bee Gees playing to a packed arena on their Spirits Having Flown tour. At the point of their greatest triumph, they had no idea the seeds of their destruction were being sown.
Went into this knowing so little of the history (and honestly, not caring enough) and am just so irrevocably in love now. My heart! This music! These brothers!!!!!!
Also, lol, I obviously loved having Chris Martin be the man to explain what it's like when your band gets very successful and famous and suddenly the world thinks it's cool to hate you. A stroke of ~casting~ genius but this whole thing is just note-perfect anyway
