Nicholas Sparks is the King of "people almost kissing on book covers and movie posters".
Complete, unadulterated schlock of the highest order full of sweet nothings, overblown declarations of love and contrived tragedy to fill some kind of 'meaning' quota.
The Best Of Me is not a great film, but neither is it completely intolerable. It's merely adequate and fits the bill of the usual Nicholas Sparks shitfest you have grown used to. You know what you're getting into seeing a film like this and it achieves what it sets out to do, which isn't much but it works.
There's nothing to say about "The Best of Me" other than it's just another Nickolas Sparks movie that follows the exact same formula. James Marsden and Michelle Monaghan are good and the film didn't look bad but it's just so cliched and daft.
yes every Nicholas Sparks movie is pretty much the same plot with the same genetically good looking people & yes i am still going to cry every time i watch one
Thank god this movie floped at the box office, because this is just romance porn all over it.
The story is about a couple who were once an item in high school find themselves meeting back up after each returns to their small home town.
It took me a while to sit through this movie and boy did it take a while. But after seeing it... I want my time back, because this is one of the worst romance movies I've seen this year. You know those really bad cliche romance movies with no excitement just boring and uninspiring story that's been done a thousand times, well this movie takes the cake from being the worse of the worse. Name…
This feels like a parody, except no one told the director or actors and had me cheering along with each cliche until my throat burned, culminating in the most epic hoorah moment as my dreams of the silliest ending come true.
nicholas spark’s plot conductor is a roulette of tragedies one after the other, with the classic touch of a dead character by the end
This movie features the same formula that Nicholas Sparks utilizes in all of his other books/movies. The acting isn't bad, but the plot is predictable and boring. I watched this when I was about 15 years old, and even though it made me cry like a baby, it isn't necessarily a good movie. The only aspect of this film worth applauding is the fact that it successfully made its way to theaters despite containing the exact same type of storyline that Sparks has relied upon before. Nevertheless, I can't deny the fact that I will always have a soft spot for cheesy, uneventful romance movies that feature some sort of tragedy... they satisfy my suppressed need for clichés!
this movie is awful and ridiculous and FUCKING WILD but I had such a fun time so idgaf
my roommate refuses to take risks when we watch movies, so i end up having to tolerate nonsense like this. this is not a “good” movie.
