  According to Google’s code of conduct, its tagline is “Don’t Be Evil,” but this limited series achieves to show the deniability of the directive and delivers it in an incredibly powerful way. 

  A harrowing look at Google’s stance on intellectual property. By all standards, The Billion Dollar Code is a success and meets all of its requirements. The acting is phenomenal.   Fuck Google. Seriously. If even half of the facts in this based on true events story are true, it really shows you how unchecked these tech giants go about stealing, manipulating and eventually absorbing and/or make obsolete smaller companies of visionaries. 
  The filmmakers here use perfectly the blueprint of taking a real life story, keeping the core and dressing it around with superb elements to make it cinematic. The themes of intellectual theft, brotherhood, court room suspense are all here, delivered by great actors who portray fantastically written characters.   The Billion Dollar Code is just some amazing top tier storytelling. Great job giving recognition to the real guys behind Google Earth. Great way to tell the story with some great acting performances. If you liked The Social Network, give this a shot. One of the best series I've seen this year.

  Have you noticed that “success” stories rarely inspire and instead reveal the apparent protagonist(s) to be the antagonist(s)? But the notion that that’s normal has been drilled into our heads to such an extent that we give a pass to all kinds of villainy while harping on about the need for more empathy in this world. Whereas it’s stories about “failure” that highlight the importance of human connections because they give you company and warmth, something that a million or even a billion followers or truckloads of revenue won’t give you. And that is essentially what the Netflix limited series, The Billion Dollar Code is all about.

  To be a hacker in Berlin in the 90s, just wow 🤩

  I think telling a tech story through a deposition is really overdone. This also could have been a 90-120 minute movie! Seriously you guys when will these end?

  That said, this was pretty entertaining! I hope the real life Terravision people got at least a little satisfaction and a bunch of Netflix money out of this.

  "The Billion Dollar Code" ist eine gelungene deutsche Miniserie und mit 4 Episoden zudem angenehm kurz. Im Nachhinein werde ich aber das Gefühl nicht los, dass sich die Serie zu viele Freiheiten erlaubt hat. Eine auf wahren Begebenheiten basierende Adaption wird die Wirklichkeit immer kürzen, erweitern oder anderweitig anpassen, doch für meinen Geschmack wurde hier einfach zu viel angepasst. Das lässt "The Billion Dollar Code" natürlich in einem anderen Licht erscheinen, denn zahlreiche Entwicklungen der Geschichte, die mir zwar nicht gefielen, von mir aber mit einem "Tja, so war es damals eben!" abgetan wurden, waren eigentlich Erfindungen und hätten somit sehr wohl anders erzählt werden können.
  Also: Sicherlich nicht die beste Adaption der wahren Geschichte, aber als Fiktion mit wahrem Kern durchaus unterhaltsam. Ich bereue es nicht, die Serie gesehen zu haben, weiterempfehlen werde ich sie aber auch nicht.
