the film is worth seeing simply for the archival footage alone - interviews with people like carmichael, cleaver, and, of course, angela davis - her too-brief interview from jail is the film's highlight.
the film itself, however, does a true disservice to the footage. it should stand back and let the words speak for themselves - instead, it's awkwardly edited and focuses too much on the swedish journalists themselves (that tv guide detour?). and instead of featuring commentary from lots of current and former activists or historians, about half of the interviews are with (admittedly interesting) celebrities who don't add anything to our understanding of the subject.
amazing subject, bad movie - i would've rather just watched the raw footage on youtube tbh.
