I actually have a wacky story to tell about this movie!!
So like maybe six or seven years ago I met this guy online in that old Beneath the Underground Facebook group, and I had a tiny little crush on him.. We'd just talk about horror movies and gore and all that kinda stuff.. He absolutely loved this movie though, The Bunny Game, and would not stop talking about it!!
So then one day he just like vanished completely, never came back online.. gone forever! A few mutual friends were like huh what's going on? But nobody seemed to hear from him again..
Jump forward to like a week ago and my friend messages me and he's like "Hey remember…
Nine Things about the Movie “The Bunny Game” [USA, 2012]
1. This is the feel-bad movie of the year. Maybe of the decade.
2. Filmed entirely in black and white, this movie is partly art film, partly torture porn, partly regular porn, and partly industrial music video. It’s nothing more or less than a depiction of the total destruction of a young woman.
3. It's about a trucker that meets a homeless hooker. He chains her up inside his truck. Then he tortures and terrorizes the prostitute in nightmarish, horrifying ways.
4. The movie should come with a trigger warning - people who have been in extremely abusive situations should probably not watch it.
5. This movie has been banned…
The (human) boys in the family are off to baba for a whole week! Which could be sad and a total bore, but I see it as an opportunity for me to watch all of those movies that no one else in the family should watch, or refuse to watch. And I thought that I would start with this one, and maybe it would've been for the better if I refused to watch this as well...
I was prepared for the explicit oral sex scene in the beginning of The Bunny Game, and so should anyone that is about to watch this movie. It sets the bar high when it comes to authenticity, just as it gives us an hint…
Un sinsentido total. Que fea que es, empezas sin saber que estás viendo y terminas con la misma reacción.
Aparte de eso lleva el infalible honor de pertenecer a las tantas películas 'shock value' sin ningún aspecto artístico.
Que película de mierda.
An absolutely sense-numbing, patience-testing attempt at "extreme" cinema. The Bunny Game begins with a prostitute (Rodleen Gestic) performing oral sex (unsimulated?) and follows her over one day of hustling tricks in alleys and motel rooms. She is repeatedly beaten and degraded and it doesn't take long for all the "provocation" to become tiresome. Then she gets picked up by a sadistic trucker who proceeds to knock her unconscious, tie her up and make her endure an afternoon of twisted role-play, torture, rape and other cliches of shock filmmaking.
Now, I'm all for pushing the audience to the limits if you can anchor it on a story, a concept or an aesthetic that justifies the punishment. I don't mind excessive violence,…
This isn't disturbing or gritty or shocking. It's nothing. There's nothing here. To call this a "movie" is absurd. It's a feature-length Marilyn Manson video with some porn in it.
These are such evocative silences and fascinating, tormented landscapes caught up in the midst of a purest exploration of inhumanity.

Der katholische FILM-DIENST rät vermutlich, nun ja, eher ab.
Zu einer ähnlichen Einschätzung gelangt der Evangelische Filmbeobachter.
A perfect way to ruin your day.
What on earth will Aliens think of us when they see this flick one fine day?
Oh. I am a little concerned…
Things I learned from the movies: Some cinematographic works (Tom Six, anyone?) are simply not suitable for breakfast… No catharsis, nooo squirrels.
Despite the fact that I love sick and disturbing stuff, this was just boring and not worth the time. I even would say the non torture part was the best.
The torture part itself is much more psychological, don't expect any gore. And at the end it's more annoying thanks to the lights, cuts and sound.
At least the music was ok.
