After Japanese thugs murder his master and friends, it’s up to Lei Ming (Jimmy Wang Yu) to get bloody revenge - emphasis on BLOODY! (I swear, if someone is so much as slapped in this movie, they start hemorrhaging blood).
But how can he develop the skills to take on these ruthless karate masters? What is the path to martial arts superiority? Well, lemme tell ya!
1. Chop wood
2. Go jogging with ankle weights
3. Dip hands in hot sand
And thus a hero is forged!
(With his medical face mask and protective white gloves, Ming looks dutifully dressed for the pandemic... though his observance of social distancing guidelines definitely needs some work!)
From Crazy 88-style showdowns to a snowy confrontation with samurai in tall grass, if you can’t find something in The Chinese Boxer to enjoy, there’s a good chance these Kung Fu flicks just aren’t your thing.
Part of my Kung Fu/Wuxia Summer series!
