I mean, if you breathed The Babysitter's Club series as a young adult, you'll dig this.

this book series means so much to me. when i was eleven, my mom gave me a stack of over fifty babysitters club books that she had as a little girl. i read them over and over again, they meant so much to me and they were some of the first books i remember truly loving. mary anne and claudia were always my favorite characters. i could relate to mary anne's quietness, but i wanted to be claudia because she was so cool!!!!
watching this documentary, and seeing the impact of these books from an asian american perspective was wonderful. there's a lot to love about claudia. but there's issues with the way the books handle race, and they miss…
i've been super into nostalgia so i knew i was going to love this going in but the artwork was so gorgeous?? i was already familiar with many of the creators they interviewed and this was all-around so well done, i really can't wait to see more from sue ding
Claudia Thought She Told Everyone To Take Off Their Fucking Shoes
THAT'S RIGHT!! I love how this was so fun and beautiful to watch but also extremely sincere and powerful in conveying its message. I knew nothing about this book series but I was still so engaged throughout!! Especially loved that last sequence where different creatives are showing their own individual works!!
We're thirsty for those crumbs of representation. We're tired of just having crumbs. We want the whole cookie. We're gonna go out and bake our own cookies and put them out so everyone can enjoy them.
(crying) i love all these claudia kishis creating and inspiring a new generation of claudia kishis
💗💞💘💕💓”Claudia Kishi is like a puzzle piece that fits right into my heart” :’) 💘💞💕💖💓💗💕
17 min. short film on Netflix. Claudia is my favourite, much love to my fellow Cancerian with a fashion fixation, junk food addiction, and unresolved anger issues. This does a quick delve into representation and has people read excerpts from the book and express their frustrations and ideas on pop culture racism.
I loved The Babysitters Club growing up, both the novels and the graphic novels. Claudia was easily everyones fave, yup. Can't believe it took me till covid to get bangs??? I also can't believe I forgot the legacy she left. I should probably watch the show. But ya woo Claudia Kishi's rise up!! Asian girls in the arts ft support from their family, we exist, everywhere, everywhere. Loved this.
