Timeless artfully crafted supernatural horror. The kind of movie that immediately enters the ‘classic’ echelon for me, boasting impressive direction of cleverly crafted minimalistic scares, a wonderful cast giving wonderful performances, and the uncanny ability to make the dark scary again with impeccable set-pieces from one of the genres most precise set-piece merchants. I love getting played by James Wan in his horror movies and that feeling that I’m in the hands of someone who’s completely confident in their craft.
