At the time, my daughter was less than a year old and the man with a clipboard decided to try to convince me to sign my name on the dotted line by bringing her into the conversation.

the opening credits are just landscapes for no reason, half the shots don't work and the other half are trying to show off but they aren't showing off anything because the movie is dull and the colors are dull and everything is grey just like The King's Speech and Les Miserables and all the other shit Tom Hooper makes

The Danish Girl probably didn't age well with all the negative reviews here, but hear me out - while this movie may be biologically inaccurate, it showed how far we've come since the 1930s. If Lili Elbe experienced cruelty and discrimination, its because homosexuality was heavily fawned upon then. If The Danish Girl repeatedly misgendered Lili, its because she was misgendered in her days. This is a sad reality we can't just paint clean to reflect our truths today.
Having said that, The Danish Girl is an excellent film with praise worthy cinematography, set design, costume and musical score; with Alicia Vikander and Eddie Redmayne in a career defining performance. Their acting is so solid I was harvesting each emotion…
