I'm assuming that director Kurt Neumann's The Deerslayer is set before the events depicted in literary giant James Fenimore Cooper's Last of the Mohicans, because the character Chingachgook isn't yet a Mohawk Chief? Based on Cooper's novel The Deerslayer, there's a good story here that is undone by a poor script, some awful costume choices, including a clear rubber Mohawk wig, and less action than in an Amish porno. Alas there's no Daniel Day-Lewis here either, instead we have that acting colossus with the one facial expression, Lex Barker himself, as the aforementioned Deerslayer, supported by several decent actors, including Forrest Tucker and Jay C. Flippen.
