This movie is so..... small. Really think about it, what plot point does this movie end on? The Millenium Falcon (best name for anything ever btw) finally getting its hyperdrive fixed.
Nothing blew up and there was no enormous, intergalactic conflict. Just a shotty piece of machinery getting fixed. How great is that? Elsewhere you've got Luke being trained to be a Jedi and Vader's relentless pursuit of him, but all of that could just as easily be done in a western or a crime thriller than a space fantasy.
In a movie society where some people immediately jump to hyperbolic opinions, The Empire Strikes Back truly earns the praise it gets It really is as good as they say.
With The Last Jedi creeping closer and closer, I'm leaning towards the possibility that Rian Johnson has snuck in a "No, I am your father" level reveal or some other WTF moment. Idk, maybe Finn will die.
