Wow. This is, like, legitimately decent. The animation style certainly takes some getting used to, but it's pretty effective once you acclimate.
To its credit, The Exigency never shies away from its most apparent aspect: that it looks like a video game interstitial from the mid-2000s. On the contrary, it leans into it, playing it for laughs in ways that a high-budget computer animated film could never do – it just wouldn't be able to pull off the humor. In that way, this reminds me of titles like South Park or Aqua Teen Hunger Force, which also rely on a crude style.
