This was everything we could have wanted as fans of this show. Fresh Prince was my show growing up, and I was devastated when it ended (at least when I watched the final season years later). This special brings together the cast that we love, and it allows us to see the ins and outs of what filming was like for this gem of a series. We also get a spectacular tribute for James Avery. Uncle Phil was always my favorite growing up, and learning of his passing was devastating. Being a fan of ‘Fresh Prince’ I was, understandably very excited for this reunion. When I heard the reunion was happening, I was enticed but.... when I saw the trailer and they brought in the original Aunt Viv, I had to watch it.
The reunion worked on every level that a reunion should there were laughs, tears and obvious (but effective) nostalgia. Honestly, this reunion brought me back to a simpler time. Just as it brought the cast back, it brought myself back into my mindset when I was watching the show or when I first watched it.
Having responsibilities is hard. Life is hard. This reunion special did what sitcoms do best : take you away from life and show you a romanticised version. A version that is heightened and for the most part happier, but can also not just serve as an escape from reality but can also be useful in order to process reality.
I haven’t watched a movie in a while. Had plans to watch Boogie Night, and ended up watching this with my friend. This brought up so many feelings. Damn my heart is full😫❤️❤️ I’m so happy they brought Janet on for her to say her peace and have reconciliation with everyone 👏🏾👏🏾 I can’t wait to binge this all over.
The two Aunt Vivs finally meeting for the first time healed a 1990's-sized hole in my heart.
So much fun visiting the gang again! One of the most fun sitcoms ever, how could I not watch this?
Sadly, James Avery, who played Uncle Phil, passed away in 2013. Listening to the cast talk about him and his influence had me emotional. Then, Will Smith and Janet Hubert, the original Aunt Viv, reconciling after not speaking for years, had me weeping like a willow! For a sitcom reunion show, it had me more verklempt than anticipated. Expressions of real love and affection always break me down, I'm a big softy.
Guys, I watched this just prior to the final episode of Supernatural. Someone may have to check on me afterwards, this TV nerd might not survive all this.
Made me emotional, I watched this show so many times, it’s nice seeing them all together after so long.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is one of the sitcoms I grew up watching as a kid, alongside Married With Children so I have a ton of memories with it. Seeing the entire cast back together was pretty cool, especially considering I never thought they would get the original Aunt Vivian, Janet Hubert to participate. I knew there was bad blood between her and the studio that made the show but this special made it clear that there was personal animosity between her and Will as well.
If you're like me and grew up watching this show, this should be an enjoyable experience for you.

y’all might be tired of me talking about colorism but it’s a good thing i don’t care! this special did some of the work for me by “addressing” it, i suppose. Smith’s apology was long overdue. i’m glad Janet Hubert can heal even more now, and i’m hoping she also received financial reparations.
NOW THIS IS A STORY ALL ABOUT HOW....The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air was so integral to my childhood, like many Black sitcoms. there are so many things that we, as Black people, aren’t allowed to do so to have those moments of joy…
This was a pretty effective little reunion slash tribute slash documentary about the impact of one of the most famous shows of all time. I legitimately want to watch the whole series now.
A beautiful reunion celebrating such a great and iconic show.
The tribute to James Avery was wonderful, as was the reconciliation between Will and Janet.
Pretty great! Felt a bit like a vanity project for Smith but the cast's obvious and very genuine chemistry on the series felt worth revisiting 30 years later. Glad room elephants were addressed with OG Viv - but damn, Will has a hard time saying "I'm sorry".
I remember discovering this show 2 years ago on youtube through compilation videos and to this day i watch fresh prince of bel-air funny moments compilation once in a while. I truly am a fan of this show and the characters. I think i would finish watching its whole seasons one day too cuz i can't remember on which season i took a break ..... might as well restart it and go through it all again after watching this perhaps be a little too much for me now.
This was beautiful. Every Fresh Prince fan needs to watch the reunion.
I laughed, I cried, and I felt the warmth of an overdue visit from a lifelong friend.
I binged all of fresh prince earlier in quarantine so the show is still really fresh in my head and this literally had my crying like 4 times my heart is so😭😭
The cast of the The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air gather for the first after being off air for 20+ years. They remember the key moments of the show and takes a dive in to how each cast member interacted with each other. The reunion goes into the loss of James Avery and also the sudden departure of Janet Hubert-Whitten. Who played Vivian Banks for the first three seasons. A much recommended watch for fans of the show.
